Hello, Just joined. I live over the water, but try to get over to Ireland every couple of years. I'm coming over this year for acouple of weeks. 1 in the north and 1 in the south. Usually bring the road maggot (caravan) but not this time, ferry prices and we'll be moving every day. Will be coming over in our Series 2 landy (1961) Hopefully with a couple of others.

Hi Gadget welcome to the forum.
Keep an eye on this forum for info about meets etc, you can throw the landy in amongst us in the event of an overnighter if time and luck coincides. Look at the yellow tabs along the top for a great map made by one of our forum members here. It is pretty comprehensive and has contact details etc. Any ideas where you want to go this time?

We're coming over the 9th to 23rd of September. Not sure which side of the border we're starting at yet? Got to see about dog passports too. I would like to go to Ballymoney to Joeys Bar. And back to New Grange in the south. The plan so far is very loose.

That's the best kind of plans to have. I tend to pick an area I'd like to visit and then find a campsite to suit, and if it's not perfect it doesn't really matter as I tend to only sleep there. One of the areas I'd like to visit this year is Dunmore East way down past Waterford. Or the Sunny South East as it's known - I think I'm due a bit of sunshine! There's a new campsite beside a golf club with a view over the sea and a short (but steep) walk down to the village. September can often be very nice weather wise too. If you are coming to NI look at Hillfoot Campsite near Dungiven, very central to everything such as Coleraine (15 miles away) and only a couple of miles off the main route between Derry/Londonderry and Belfast. www.facebook.com/hillfootcampsite/
